Are you interested in diabetes education? Need hours for your CDE certification?
Diabetes Canada is looking for registered nurses and dietitians to connect with our community of people affected by diabetes through our virtual diabetes education classes. We are looking for volunteers who are dynamic and engaging speakers to present and facilitate learning about the basics for diabetes management.
Background:
Diabetes Canada virtual education classes are offered as a session of two classes, offered one week apart. Classes are on Thursdays, from 7 p.m – 8 p.m Eastern Standard Time.
- Class 1 – Living with Diabetes, provides an overview of diabetes management and are facilitated by a registered nurse
- Class 2 – Eating Well and Active Living with Diabetes, focuses on the benefits of eating well and physical activity and are facilitated by a registered dietitian
This request is for volunteers for both classes.
These sessions will run from September 21 to December 21st, 2023. Volunteers would need to be available 15 minutes prior to the start of the class (i.e., 6:45pm EST), familiar with Zoom, and commit to as many as 7 classes during this period (approx. 2 a month starting Sept 21, depending on the number of volunteers we have). Training and presentation materials will be provided.
